Managed Android setup
Managed child phone
For a parent-owned Android phone. This gives SwearGuard permission to keep filtering on and control installed apps. Use a new phone or one you have already chosen to reset. Back up anything important first: a factory reset erases the phone. SwearGuard will not reset it for you.
- At Android’s first welcome screen, tap the same empty spot six times to open the setup QR scanner.
- Connect to Wi-Fi, scan this management QR and read Android’s management notice.
- Open SwearGuard DNS, sign in or scan a device setup QR, choose the child and set a parent PIN.
- Enable managed protection and grant Usage access for daily app limits.
Keep the parent PIN safe. Managed controls in the app let the parent unlock apps for 15 minutes or remove restrictions. Calls and essential system apps remain available. This DNS-only release does not support Android’s “Block connections without VPN” option.
Already using the phone? Normal setup works without resetting. Management cannot be added merely by switching an option.
